At the age of 44, with children grown up and grandchildren on the way, finally it’s time for Kyle and I to have our life.The life we dreamed of; travelling to far off distant places. Romantic nights in Paris, days in the Greek Isles and trekking around the Pyramids in Egypt. This is the way it’s supposed to be – isn’t it?Alas it was not to be. I’d given Kyle the best years of my life only to be traded-in on a girl the same age as my daughter! How did I get here? This was not my journey, surely it was someone else’s... there’s been a mistake. I was supposed to be with Kyle living happily ever after. Instead I’ve been hurled into a pit of anxiety, self doubt, self loathing, utter confusion, and unbelievable pain – a very dark place... in fact a living hell. I’ve gone from being a confident, strong, well-adjusted woman - to a shattered confused mess on the floor in the foetal position rocking back and forth. What I wanted just didn’t matter... my cries fell on deaf ears and as I descended deeper into the pit the silence fell. The only journey I took was from the torture within.
