About the Book The novel 'Vigilante' introduces John Stanton an extreme but acceptable and in some cases lovable character. A product of British Military Intelligence, at the age of sixty he had done nothing else all his life and lived through much accumulating masses of information whilst working for or with western governments. He moved to Australia in 2003 from the UK chasing his family whom he had lost when his children were young settling in the NSW coastal settlement of Newcastle where he could be close to them but had no contact his wife shutting him out. He was so used to what he did and had so many contacts he occasionally did work for the Australian and British governments. He designed Australia's computer security system and trained those who use it. He was paid immense amounts of money and invested in real estate and security for his family all over the world. He prepared for the day he could get them back but it didn't come so he just kept building.
One day in an error from the Australian government in 2010 he received a sanction for his own wife in an oversight by Australian officials. His wife using her maiden name as a journalist asked questions on a missing shipment of weapons in Afghanistan whilst at a press conference in Canberra and somebody wants her dead. During the course of getting to the bottom of the threat with relentless application he finds a lead that would go far beyond a few truck loads of missing small arms. He finds a plot by radical ousted Israelis to gain access to Pakistanis nuclear weapon arsenal with the assistance of anyone they can muster. Leaving the safety of his family with his part aboriginal police officer sidekick The Cadiche Man, Stanton sets out to eradicate the threat.
