Here's 7 Things You Seriously Must Check If You're
Looking for a Book Printing Service...
to Avoid Stress, Headaches and Throwing Away Your Hard-Earned Money on Simple Mistakes
Dear Friend,
If you are on this web site, there is a good chance you are about to finish your book manuscript, or have just finished it.
Ok, now comes to the easy part right? Getting it printed?
In theory, it should be just handing your Microsoft Word document and pay your money, and voila! You get your books.
Well, unfortunately that is not really the case.
Lots of people have simply gone with the cheapest printer; only to find out it ends up costing them a whole lot more.
The problems can easily be prevented if you choose the right book printer.
So here are the 7 book printing issues you WILL need to check if you want to get your book printed properly. Skip this at your own peril…
1) Is your book typeset professionally?
Make sure you get your book typeset properly. Most book printers will just print what you give them. So make sure you hire a professional to do this otherwise your book will simply look amateurish.
2) Is your copyright done properly?
Make sure your copyright protection is done properly, otherwise people could potentially plagarise your work and profit from it.
3) Barcoding and ISBN
Is your bar-coding and ISBN registered properly? What happens if you don’t? Well if you eventually end up negotiating a distribution deal with a publisher or bookstore, then all the books you have printed are useless, because they do not work with the bookstores’ system.
In fact many people are in this situation, with boxes of books in their garage. Unfortunately no bookstore or system are able to accept those books.
4) Submit your books to relevant authorities.
Did you know it is a legal requirement to submit your published book to the relevant authorities? While there it is only a very slim chance you’d get fined for this, your book is not deemed to be published properly. After all, why risk it anyway?
5) There are books and then, there are books suitable for bookstores.
Go ahead and knock yourself silly getting quotes from 7 different printers. But don’t just go and choose the cheapest one that comes along.
For instance, many book printers do not cello-glaze their book covers…you’d end up getting C-grade book more suitable to be a door stopper than a best seller.
Truth is we could write a whole page about book printing quality issues, but that’s for another time. Just make sure you find a book printing specialist, rather than a general printer.
6) Have you considered Print on Demand?
All authors start with big dreams. Unfortunately many end up with a stack of unsold books in the garage.
So that’s why you need to consider Print on Demand before splurging your hard earned money on printing boxes of books.
How it works is simply that you can print as little as a single book, when you get an order from a customer. Yes there is a set up cost, but it certainly costs a whole lot less than printing thousands of books and hope it sells.
Absolutely no book wastage or storage required.
7) Book Marketing
Here’s one other thing you need to consider…once you printed your books, how do you get them sold?
Every author wants a fair go getting his/her book sold at bookstores. There are two ways you can go about it:
i) Go and approach local bookstores individually. The big names won’t bother with you, not to mention all the time and effort that is involved.
ii) Get into our GBIS system. This means your books will be available for ordering at 27,000 bookstores around the world. Your book will be available in all the big name stores in Australia, US, Canada and UK (and soon New Zealand, Singapore and Malaysia).
Your book will also appear in thousands of internet bookstores around the world, including Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com and so on.
So remember to ask the other book printers what book marketing/distribution they can offer you.
