About the Book

The novel follows Minnie, a young girl who is ignored by her parents and picked on at school. One day she discovers a magic box that transports her to another land, far off in the future. It’s called Buvaland it’s filled with giant talking bees, friendly monkeys, and other bizarre creatures. But this is no pleasure trip. The animals, which have dominion over this land, have brought her here for one very specific reason: to save their world.

Now, armed only with her wits and a cryptic poem setting out her task, Minnie must embark on a treacherous journey across a strange place that’s teeming with danger. What she accomplishes could mean the survival of the animals’ worldand of her own. Through it all, she’ll discover the shocking truth about Earth’s future. And she just might discover the confidence and belief in herself that she so sorely lacks.
